Plymouth Teaching School Alliance (PTSA) and TSSW are pleased to be working with Devon Local Authority to deliver The Plymouth Oracy Project to primary schools in Devon for this academic year.
This is a funded Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme supported by a range of high-quality resources free for Devon schools, which is part of our Covid and Beyond Support Offer.
Delivered by PTSA accredited trainers, the Oracy project will build on the strong impact measures achieved in Plymouth schools, and trials last year in Torridge (North Devon) and Somerset that have showed similar positive outcomes.
The programme is recommended for a member of the Senior Leadership Team (with some responsibilities for curriculum) and an outstanding practitioner from each school attends the training. As research from The Plymouth Oracy Project has demonstrated that schools which have successfully embedded Oracy have a trained SLT member to support implementation.
Positive outcomes of the programme include:
The programme will commence on Thursday/Friday 12/13 November 2020 and will be delivered in two cohorts depending on your school location:
Cohort 1 | Central and North (Tiverton)
Cohort 2 | South and East (Exeter South)
Due to the ongoing Government Covid-19 restrictions, the programme will initially be delivered online with a view to moving to face-to-face later in the programme in accordance with social distancing guidelines.
